As I cringed at the thought, she told me she had been by herself at the time! I thought I would have just died! She said that she did not know what to do and was it a poisonous snake? I mean really, a poisonous snake in the middle of a subdivision in College Station?? She called her dad- "what do I do???" but before he could answer he moved towards a laundry basket that had been on the floor. THIS BRAVE WOMAN captured this snake with the basket and went and got a Hoe and some BBQ Tongs! She had to get it out of the house, because no way she was going to chop it up on those beautiful brand new hardwood floors (THANK YOU FOR THAT! It might have made the house harder to sell!!) Her bravery took over and she scooped it up with the tongs which it immediately wrapped itself around and she took it outside far away from the home. Of course this was after it got away once! I am sitting there in awe with chills as she said, "I grew up in the country, so I wasn't too afraid after the shock wore off!" Let me tell you my friends! I live in Rural Brazos County (Bryan), grew up in rural Burleson County (Caldwell) and have lived in the country most of my life. But there is NO WAY I COULD HAVE BEEN AS BRAVE AS HER! I said I would have run and never looked back! I would have moved away! Though she had a great point to that- who know where it might have gone in the house if she left?? She didn't want to chance waking up to it in her face during the night! Well Miss Brave Snake lady- Here is to you! You are my hero! My IDOL! Because to me, it takes a strong woman to get a scary who knows if it is poisonous snake out of your suburban house! Maybe she could have called Breakaway Pest Control, but the thought was GET IT OUT! Me, I might just end up having to call a GOOD REALTOR (KRISTI FOX) to sell my house, snake and all!!! And for anyone who sees this new listing over in Emerald Forest with my name on it- NO WORRIES! The snake is gone!! But if you see my house for sale one day you might ask if I am moving because of a snake before you come in and take a look! :) Because my little darling daughter is the only critter allowed in my house!! One is the diamond shaped head, and the second is if they have eyes like a cat with the vertical slit. Personally, I'm not sticking around to go eyeball to eyeball with a snake! We are not use to seeing snakes so they startle us more than anything. If given a few minutes, they will go someplace else.
